City Christmas Lights

We started our adventure travelling by bus into the city.  We visited the Myer Christmas windows and Brumby read us the story.  We ventured downstairs in the Myer Centre for the
divine cuisine of McDonalds for dinner and then headed over to King George Square to await the lighting of the huge Christmas Tree.  The top star on the tree is actually solar panels and the whole tree is solar powered.
While we waited and waited and waited and waited oh sorry got carried away. . . . . and then we waited a bit more they finally decided to light it all up so we could go home.  Unfortunately it was a VERY long wait the Joeys were all amazing and had great game of go fish while we waited (it was good to see that they will be up on card games by the time they get to Rovers).  It was good to see the tree light up we all said "Awww" then some cheers went up and we headed home.

Under Water World Sleepover

Wow what an experience. We met at Underwater World with 35 of us all buzzing with excitement ready for our adventure ahead. We had been joined by some of the Oakleigh Joeys as well. What a night we were in for. . . .

We started in the Weird and Wonderful area seeing Lion Fish, Sea horse,  Nemo, Stone Fish and many more.

Then we headed in for our private Seal show which the kids all enjoyed the funny tricks they got up to where we learnt that the seals did all their tricks following hand signals not by sound.

We moved on to the Ray pool and then the Touch and Feel area where we got to touch star fish, sea cucumbers and learnt how they feed and move through the water.

After being well fed with dinner we moved on to the Rehab area behind the scenes where we saw lots of turtles who were found to be floating in the wild and had been brought into Under water world for help.  The Joeys also learnt how important it was for rubbish to go into bins rather than the ground where they wash down into our waterways affecting our wildlife.

We were then able to feed the fish and rays in the tunnel from above the tunnel which was quite amazing to see them all jump up for the food.  We didn't hold our hands over though just in case they got the wrong idea on what was food and what wasn't.

We set ourselves up in the tunnel for the night and although we were all very tired by now the experience of having sting rays and sharks swimming above us was one to enjoy.
Eventually we all slept . . . . Eventually.

Next morning we watched the seals play underwater with us.  It was amazing to watch them follow our hand movements blowing kisses to us all through the glass.

We then saw all the otters and watched them play in their enclosure. There were also more than one Joey wanting to take them home as pets.

Finally we went back down into the tunnel for one final look before it was time to head out and go home.  We were tired, but had had then best time and the kids all certainly enjoyed the experience.

A special Thank you to all the Parents who came with us it certainly helped to make the night a success.
